Why are my parents so insistent in me getting confirmed? (Catholicism)?

They must believe in hell. They think they are saving your soul when in actual fact they are pushing you further away from the religion, hurting you and being bad parents. Do what you think is right. They can't make you believe, stuff the confirmation, dedicate yourself to the Easter bunny if that's what you want to do. Just choose your own path. It's the only way you can grow as a person.
