Is it possible to attach a dslr camera to a telescope....?

Yes it is. You remove the lens from the camera, put in a special adapter that fits the telescope eyepiece holder, remove the eyepiece from the telescope, and put the camera in place of the eyepiece. Then the telescope becomes a big telephoto lens for the camera. There is a Yahoo group (several in fact) for people interested in this kind of thing.
