Camcorder experts? i need some advise and not much info for you to go on, i am looking at buying one of the?

two used camcorders. i've tried to research them and didnt get much info. one is a JVC mini dv camcorder, this one uses the little tapes, they do not have the model but its about 4 yrs old. the other is a Sony handycam CCD-TR818 digital camcorder... i think that one may have been discont'd for a newer model, so i cant really find any info on it either.. both are $80 , which is a better camera? im not an expert, just a mom that films alot of softball... thanks! i know its sketchy iinfo, but its all i have.
