What to do about Morton's Neuroma?

Over the past month and a half, I've been experiencing a burning, agonizing pain in the "knuckles" of my 3rd and 4th (outter) toes, radiating out into the toes themselves. This occurs after about a mile to two miles of running, and sometimes just while walking. It makes it especially difficult to bend my foot in a way that puts the weight on the forefoot, as happens each time you take a new step. I researched it and it looks like Morton's Neuroma, and I'm curious as to if there is any way to deal with this which doesn't involve going to a doctor, or what should be done. I've already taken two and half weeks off from running, to no avail.
